Statistics of the homeless

I was shocked when I found out some very basic statistics on the homeless in the United States.

A) On any given night, there are over 550,00 people homeless in the U.S.

B) Out of the 550,00, there are over 47,000 who are Veterans.

C) 83,000 are chronically homeless. “Chronically” indicates people on the streets for one year or longer.

D) 50% of the homeless are 50 years of age and older.

E) The top three states that have the most homeless are, Hawaii, New York, and California, with Boston falling in as the number one city.

OUT OF THE 550,000 HOMELESS PEOPLE, WHAT PERCENT DO YOU FEEL CAN ACTUALLY WORK?

I was under the impression that most people who beg on the streets can get a job. But the more I think about it, I’m not really sure. I can’t wait to read your book to give me a better insight on what;s really going on. Any idea how long before your book comes out?

  • I was driving home last Monday and noticed a homeless man standing at the exit. At first I wasn’t going to give money. I did not know you were writing a book. . Once you explained your situation and that you were collecting money for a charity, I was more than happy to give five dollars. I read the pamphlet you handed out and I am very eager to read your book.. I really want to know the inner thoughts of the people begging on the streets. I know what my opinion i,,but after I read your book, maybe i’ll change my mind.
